About the Job:

Starcare International Hospital is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Store Manager to oversee the hospital’s inventory, procurement coordination, and supply chain processes. The ideal candidate must ensure the availability of essential medical and non-medical supplies, maintain accurate stock records, and uphold procurement and storage standards in compliance with healthcare regulations. This is a critical administrative role that supports smooth clinical operations and patient care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory & Stock Management:

  • Manage the receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation of medical consumables, equipment, pharmaceuticals, and general supplies.

  • Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies in physical and recorded inventory.

  • Maintain a well-organized and hygienic store that complies with healthcare safety standards.

  • Implement FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) methods effectively.

Procurement Coordination:

  • Work closely with the procurement and finance departments to raise requisitions and track purchase orders.

  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers for timely and quality delivery of goods.

  • Ensure stock levels are maintained to avoid shortages or overstocking.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records using manual and electronic systems.

  • Prepare periodic inventory reports, usage trends, and budget forecasts.

  • Support audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Team Support & Process Improvement:

  • Supervise store assistants and train them on best inventory practices.

  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

Skills & Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Store Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years experience managing medical or hospital inventories.

  • Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or hospital ERP systems).

  • Strong recordkeeping and reporting skills.

  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and meet deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Prior experience in a healthcare, pharmaceutical, or clinical store environment.

  • Certification in inventory or supply chain management.

  • Familiarity with Nigerian healthcare procurement regulations.
