Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Operations:

  • Manage the procurement cycle including quotation requests, price negotiations, purchase orders, and delivery tracking.

  • Ensure availability of critical hospital supplies (medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, consumables, and services).

  • Monitor vendor performance and maintain up-to-date vendor databases.

Cost Control & Budgeting:

  • Work with departmental heads to forecast demand and budget for procurement needs.

  • Negotiate favorable terms and payment conditions while maintaining quality standards.

  • Track procurement expenses and contribute to cost-saving initiatives.

Inventory & Compliance Coordination:

  • Coordinate with the store manager to maintain adequate stock levels and prevent overstocking or stockouts.

  • Ensure that procurement processes comply with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.

  • Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions for audits and reporting.

Vendor & Contract Management:

  • Establish and manage long-term vendor relationships.

  • Draft and manage procurement contracts, MOUs, and service level agreements.

  • Resolve supplier-related issues and disputes professionally and efficiently.

Skills & Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in procurement, preferably in a hospital, healthcare, or pharmaceutical organization.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, procurement software, and ERP systems.

  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, vendor evaluation, and contract management.

Desirable:

  • Certification in procurement/supply chain (e.g., CIPS, CIPSMN) is an added advantage.

  • Understanding of medical equipment and hospital supply categories.

  • Experience working with regulatory bodies or tender processes.
