About the Job:
Starcare International Hospital is hiring a strategic and organized Procurement Manager to lead our purchasing operations and ensure the timely availability of medical and non-medical supplies. The ideal candidate will oversee the end-to-end procurement process—vendor management, quality control, cost optimization, and compliance—while aligning with the hospital’s standards for patient safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Operations:
Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery timelines, and service.
Manage the procurement cycle including quotation requests, price negotiations, purchase orders, and delivery tracking.
Ensure availability of critical hospital supplies (medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, consumables, and services).
Monitor vendor performance and maintain up-to-date vendor databases.
Cost Control & Budgeting:
Work with departmental heads to forecast demand and budget for procurement needs.
Negotiate favorable terms and payment conditions while maintaining quality standards.
Track procurement expenses and contribute to cost-saving initiatives.
Inventory & Compliance Coordination:
Coordinate with the store manager to maintain adequate stock levels and prevent overstocking or stockouts.
Ensure that procurement processes comply with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.
Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions for audits and reporting.
Vendor & Contract Management:
Establish and manage long-term vendor relationships.
Draft and manage procurement contracts, MOUs, and service level agreements.
Resolve supplier-related issues and disputes professionally and efficiently.
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree or HND in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years experience in procurement, preferably in a hospital, healthcare, or pharmaceutical organization.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, procurement software, and ERP systems.
Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, vendor evaluation, and contract management.
Desirable:
Certification in procurement/supply chain (e.g., CIPS, CIPSMN) is an added advantage.
Understanding of medical equipment and hospital supply categories.
Experience working with regulatory bodies or tender processes.
