About the Job:

Starcare International Hospital is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and board-certified Consultant Pediatrician to join our growing medical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing expert care to infants, children, and adolescents—diagnosing, treating, and preventing a wide range of pediatric illnesses. We are looking for a doctor who is patient-friendly, clinically skilled, and committed to delivering holistic pediatric care in a multidisciplinary setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Care & Diagnosis:

  • Perform detailed assessments, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric illnesses and developmental conditions.

  • Manage both outpatient and inpatient pediatric cases including emergencies.

  • Monitor growth milestones, immunizations, and nutritional needs of children.

  • Provide care for newborns, including neonatal support during and after delivery.

Family Education & Support:

  • Counsel parents on preventive healthcare, nutrition, hygiene, and developmental guidance.

  • Offer support for chronic pediatric conditions and coordinate with allied health teams when needed.

  • Educate caregivers about vaccination schedules and early warning signs.

Hospital & Multidisciplinary Collaboration:

  • Work with obstetricians, neonatologists, and allied departments for integrated maternal and child health.

  • Participate in hospital CME activities, pediatric audits, and clinical discussions.

  • Assist in community outreach programs such as child health camps and awareness drives.

Medical Records & Ethics:

  • Maintain clear, complete, and timely medical records as per hospital and regulatory protocols.

  • Ensure ethical practice, confidentiality, and safety in all interactions with children and families.

Skills & Experience Required:

Essential:

  • MBBS and Postgraduate qualification in Pediatrics (Fellowship, FWACP, or equivalent).

  • Valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

  • Minimum of 3 years of post-fellowship experience in pediatrics.

  • Excellent clinical, diagnostic, and patient communication skills.

  • Ability to manage pediatric emergencies and inpatient care.

Desirable:

  • Subspecialty interest (e.g., Neonatology, Pediatric Neurology, Allergy & Immunology) is a plus.

  • Experience with pediatric EMR systems and digital health platforms.

  • Participation in child health awareness programs or hospital committees.
