Starcare International Hospital is looking for a skilled, compassionate, and experienced Medical Doctor to join our team and provide high-quality clinical care to patients across diverse medical conditions. The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent diagnostic capabilities, a patient-centric approach, and strong collaboration with other healthcare professionals. We are seeking someone committed to medical excellence, continuous learning, and holistic patient management in a modern hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Care & Patient Management:

  • Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic illnesses across general medical conditions.

  • Perform thorough patient assessments, order and interpret investigations, and formulate effective treatment plans.

  • Provide high standards of patient education, counselling, and follow-up.

  • Refer patients to specialists when necessary and coordinate multidisciplinary care.

Emergency Response & Inpatient Support:

  • Respond to medical emergencies and support the hospital’s 24/7 emergency unit.

  • Supervise and manage inpatients under your care, including conducting ward rounds and reviewing progress.

Medical Documentation & Compliance:

  • Ensure accurate, timely, and complete medical documentation in line with hospital protocols.

  • Adhere strictly to clinical guidelines, infection control standards, and ethical practices.

Collaboration & Continuous Learning:

  • Work closely with nurses, lab staff, specialists, and administrative teams to deliver coordinated care.

  • Participate in continuing medical education, internal audits, case discussions, and hospital improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.

  • Minimum of 3 years of post-housemanship clinical experience in a hospital setting.

  • Valid medical license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

  • Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to work under pressure and in a multidisciplinary environment.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine.

  • Postgraduate certification (e.g., in General Practice, Internal Medicine, etc.) will be an added advantage.

  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
